Do you agree with the key issues for transportation?

Are there other key transportation issues that you want to see addressed in the NSSCP? Comment below.
Kamehameha Hwy should stay a 2-lane road, expanding the road will only generate more traffic and more problems! The focus should be on a providing people alternatives! Most importantly the path by Pupukea should be extended to all of North Shore - that'll let residents bike, walk, stakeboard SAFELY to take short trips and encourage visitors (both Oahu residents from other parts of the island and tourists) to park in Haleiwa and bike to destinations further along on North Shore (it's only 5 miles from Haleiwa to Waimea Bay - an easy bike ride if there were a nice path available!). Car traffic should be reduced through managing parking as is being on the north shore of Kauai. Add a shuttle that goes frequently. Reduce the cars + more biking and walking + shuttle = a safer, greener, better North Shore!

I would like to see better road repair and noise mitigation strategies that don't involve concrete along Kamehameha HWY near homes. I would also like to address road safety near schools zones including Sunset Elementary. Possibly large crosswalk speed humps to slow traffic in this area. Look at using traffic calming measures along Kamehameha Hwy. Also, address parking or lack there of near popular beach parks, i.e. Ehukai Beach Park. The smaller roads such as Ke Nui Rd become extremely congested, muddy and sometimes impassible during peak surf season and rainy season.

Ideally we should have some of the key issues and how they are addressed mandated or come with some kind of toll to encourage the use of solutions that will reduce traffic (especially from outside the NS) and enhance internal community connectivity.
